Travis Dale, Certified Master Ice Carver (CMIC) since 2002
A highly accomplished Chef, Travis has spent the past 20 years in some of the nationâ€™s top country and yacht clubs. Travis has been carving ice since 1995.Â Early accomplishments include second place in the U.S. National Collegiate Championships and working for two years learning to â€œmasterâ€ his craft under the watchful eyes of Dan Rebholz, â€œCertified Master Ice Carverâ€ and mentor.
Travis served on the Board of Directors for the National Ice Carving Association (NICA), he has also served the association in the capacity of National Vice President, Collegiate Scholarship Chairman and National Certification Chairman. He was involved in the first NICA â€œNational Conference and Trade Showâ€ that took place in Memphis, Tenn.Â He assisted with the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympic Games Ice Carving event as a NICA Official, and was on the team of six sculptors that created the largest ice display in North America (400 -300# blocks of ice) during the Winter Olympic Games. In 2003 he was honored with the NICA Presidential Award for service to the association.Â Travis has competed in many competitions and has earned 16 gold medals. He is a NICA Certified Lead Judge and a Certified Judge through the American Culinary Federation (ACF). Travis was a three time competitor for Team USA in the â€œInternational Ice Carving Competitionâ€ that was hosted at the National Restaurant Association (NRA) trade show in Chicago, IL. A three time Culinary Olympic competitor he has one bronze (2000) and two silver medals (2004,08) for food displays. In 2004 he was also awarded an Olympic â€œsilverâ€ medal in Erfurt, Germany for his ice sculpture titled â€œThe Grand Chef
